Thanks Serge  I have seen this in my 2 meter EME operation, But I don't respond with RO  I do send TX2  and if they are seeing/hearing me they will respond with the appropriate answer, As I watch the JT65 on HF  I see 50 % of QSOs that do not have all the needed parts to make a QSO...seems just a quick step to finish, I guess instant gratification..and only we can stop this spread to VHF...Also I see the station that just mimics what was sent, I guess these just need to read the book....Have a nice day , all ray   WA4NJP

If you receive OOO on a response to your CQ, simply ignore it and respond with both calls and your own OOO.  Then the other station must send RO, and you are back on track,  73, Russ K2TXB  From: Moon [mailto:moon-bounces at moonbounce.info] On Behalf Of serge

Subject: [Moon] WHAT MAKES A WSJT QSO VALID  Hello friends It is confession timeA good friend of mine recently reminded me what makes a JT QSO a VALID QSO.    Lately  I have started focusing on small stations or at least smaller than my station. & am having great fun.I also have noticed  more & more I am getting on MY CQ  this   ve1kg XXXX  OOO to which I responded a few time with RO  & then 73 that is NOT a valid QSO. What needs to be done is that BOTH calls are sent by each STATION. So i should have sent instead of RO?  the followingXXXXX  VE1KG  OOO then i should have received RO I was the station calling CQ. The reason than small stations do this is simply because it easier to decode RO'S than XXXX VE1KG OOOI know this has been covered  By Lance  W7GJ for 6M but it also makes a lot sense for 2M if you are face with that situation. It is just a reminder to the NEW stations,  that we are getting in the DX EXPEDITION season & to respect the protocol.I will also stop sending RO'S WHEN I CALL CQ. Also thank you to my friend to remind me of the protocol which I have somehow  ignored at timesSerge VE1KG
