Hello Tony,

I see no problem with that:-)

So what is the problem? If someone would answer in CW
(or ssb) a CQ that you made with JT65, you cold perhaps
decode the message. If CW by use of the computer. It would
be up to you to decide if you would want to answer.

This is just because of bad software. I tried to implement
clever CW decoding into Linrad. Unfortunately it turned out to
be too complicated. I tried to decode signals off the moon and
as it turned out, the code to make clever desicions when a
station was transmitting incorrect Morse code was to difficult
for me.

On sequencies where the transmitted signal had no errors
I found the computer to outperform my ear/brain system with a big
margin.

Well, my posting was intended to make you and other JT65 operators
aware that big (easily decoded) stations in cw could call you
when you call CQ in JT65. Not very likely that they do, the posting by
SM4IVE explains why (to some extent.)

> Again CW and myself really don't work good together.
OK.

> Like it or not we all have to except the change of times.
To me this statement is inappropriate. You decide whether you want
to answer a call in SSB or CW as a response to a CQ you have
transmitted in JT65. Ever since the Praha EME meeting I have tried
now and then to calm down the most aggressive anti-digital operators
but up to now with a very discouraging result. The latest effort
to which you have responded, seems to have been as fruitless
as earlier attempts.

To me the fun of EME is to establish the communication channel.
How it is used - contests, qso counts, whatever - is not interesting
to me. Only the little fixes (or maybe important things that would
improve the channel. My EME interest is purely technical. I would
never accept a QSO that in pat would rely on a chat-room or
a telephone line or HF or some other side communication.

I do however encourage side communications like telephone or
chat rooms to investigate communication channels. "Can you see my carrier
that I have been transmitting every even minute ?" Such experiments
would tell by how many dB the communication link would have to be
improved to allow a true random qso in JT65 (or in CW for that matter.)
