[Moon] QUESTION LINEAR VS CIRCULAR ON 10GHz

Hello Yoshiro,

I have both linear and circular feeds. I recall that I did not see a big difference but the linear was slightly better. My numbers for my linear feed 2.4 m dish are identical to JA6CZD. There is an additional WG switch and waveguide used in the circular setup here, so the lower performance seemed reasonable.

Subject: [Moon] QUESTION LINEAR VS CIRCULAR ON 10GHz

Hi All
We Japanese are testing circular vs linear polarization on 3 cm.
JA6CZD (2.4m Offset dish) measured the sun/moon noise on both polarization;
MAY 17 Circular SUN 14.6dB, MOON 1.6dB
MAY 18 Linear H SUN 16dB, MOON 1.8dB

JA1WQF(2.4m Cassegrain) and JA4BLC (3m Cassegrain) feel same tendency
(linear is better) as JA6CZD.
All three are using Septum made by PE1RKI.
We wish to know comparison data circular vs linear. If you have any
suggestion,let me see please.
