[Moon] 8W RF output on 3cm band

G'day,

I've now an opportunity to purchase a second hand 3cm band 8W Kuhne
SSPA. This is well short of the 30W RF output planned for use with a 3m
dish. Would this be sufficient to get started and heard on 3cm EME or
should I give it a miss and continue searching for more power?

There are used 15W amplifiers with a TIM0910-15 final transistor
offered by Chinese sellers on eBay, but, as with most of this type of
equipment, they are still comparably expensive and supplied untested
something I consider a high risk investment.

What are the alternatives?
