Thanks Bob, you hit nail on the head, exactly why I accept this request have
some more space on 144 MHz problematic. During EME 2018 in PA0 Many 144 hams
were telling me, that there was not space enough to discuss their specific
problems. So Saturday after opening ceremony to the lunch we will have two
discussions groups and after lunch we will follow up together. Also leading
of 144 MHz group by Lada OK1DIX is choice, because he is very active on 144
MHz and feel specific problems which are necessary discuss. We have limited
time for all presentations, and this split allow us to have more discussions
possibilities. All together we will be other time, during visit in Pilsen
brewery, during Friday dinner, during second half of Saturday, evening etc.
Why do not give to chance everybody join, what is interesting for him?
Looking forward to see many of you in Praha 2020.

Such a slit seems reasonable if it accommodates more papers and allows more
areas of discussion. There are probably a number of issues (e.g.
polarization switching, Yagi array design, terrestrial noise sources) which
are of more interest on 144 (and maybe 432) than on the higher microwave
bands (1296 and up). Conversely, there are issues of interest in the higher
microwave bands (libration spreading, dishes and feed optimization for
example) that would likely not be of great relevance to operation on 144
MHz.
If splitting sessions (for part of the time) allows a wider range of
discussion to fit in the available time, it could be a reasonable thing to
try. The split sessions seen to occupy only 4 hours and there are a further
8 hours of combined sessions. That seems reasonable. Professional
conferences often run split sessions. If the choice is between covering two
topics in a split session or only one of them in a single session, then two
sessions makes sense. It really depends on the topics of the discussions for
the split sessions.
