Excellently put Zdenek,

Fully agree.  A small correction, I think you meant ARI when you wrote AW.

Subject: Re: [Moon-Net] [Moon] contest point system

I agree with Jan DL9KR. Again, this is a "storm in a glass of water." ARRL
has the ruls it has, and I can, or cannot, agree with them. But I always
have two choices. I will participate or I will not participate. Then I have
two choices again. I will send or not send a log. We also have a pure CW
contest during the year, DUBUS. But as Jan writes, participation is what it
is.

If someone disagrees with rules like ARRL's, he can put out a contest on the
same date. Unfortunately, there is no room for another large contest in the
year. He can then accept the logs and evaluate the contest on his terms.
Issue diplomas and issue a scorecard. We have already proposed several times
to change the conditions of ARRL at many EME conferences, without success.
So who's going to announce a contest so that the conditions suit everyone?

Personally, I don't have time for such an undertaking and so I simply accept
the conditions that are set in the individual contests, be it the SSB Fun
contest, the DUBUS contest, the AW or the ARRL.

We have a saying in the Czech language - "Fun runs according to who pays for
it".

"Gentlemen,

I strongly share and endorse the criticism brought forward by DL6SH,
PA3DZL, SM4IVE, F5HRY, VK6EME and others.  The problem is not new. In
the past years we have seen that ARRL is not willing to change things.
Formerly an avid EME-contester, I now enjoy contests when JT users are
prepared to do CW with me. Good that there's still the DUBUS (with low
activities).

SM2CEW says: CW is king. So be it.

Jan DL9KR.
